How we handle your data
PIP Companion is designed to help you prepare your own PIP claim notes. Some of the information you choose to save may be personal or sensitive, so this page explains what we store, how we protect it, and what stays in your control.
The simple version
Your name and email are stored so we can manage your account.
You control what you save, edit and delete.
PIP Companion is not connected to the DWP and does not submit anything for you.
What we store
We store basic account details such as your name, email address, account dates and subscription status. If you choose to add optional profile details, we store those so they can be shown back to you in your account.
We also store claim preparation content you choose to save, such as claim answers, health details, evidence notes and export preparation summaries.
What is encrypted
Sensitive claim preparation content is encrypted when stored. This includes health details, claim answers and evidence notes.
Some account details need to remain readable so we can manage accounts and support access.
What is not encrypted
Basic account details such as your name, email address, account status and subscription or payment status are readable to help us manage accounts, subscriptions and security.
This readable account information is separate from the sensitive claim preparation content you save in the workspace.
Why we ask for health details
Health and disability information is only used to help you prepare your own notes. You choose what to add, edit or leave out.
PIP Companion does not assess eligibility, give medical advice, give legal advice, give benefits advice or guarantee an outcome.
What we do not do
These boundaries are important. PIP Companion is a preparation tool, not an official claims service.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share your claim content with the DWP.
- We do not submit forms for you.
- We do not use your health details for advertising.
- We do not let other users see your workspace.
Your control
You can edit saved details, delete saved preparation content without deleting your account, and request account deletion. You can manage account and data controls from your Account page, and the Privacy Policy has more formal detail about how PIP Companion handles information.
