Terms of use

Terms of use

These terms explain how you can use PIP Companion. We have written them in plain English so they are easier to understand.

What PIP Companion is

  • A preparation workspace.
  • A place to organise your notes.
  • A way to draft answers at your own pace.
  • A diary for real-life examples.
  • A tool to prepare a summary you can review.
  • A private space to keep your claim preparation together.

What PIP Companion is not

  • It is not legal advice.
  • It is not medical advice.
  • It is not benefits advice.
  • It is not an official PIP form.
  • It is not connected to the Department for Work and Pensions.
  • It does not submit anything for you.
  • It cannot guarantee any claim result.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for checking your own information before using it elsewhere. This includes reviewing any notes, drafts or examples you prepare in the app.

If you are unsure about your circumstances, you should consider seeking advice from a qualified benefits adviser or specialist support organisation. You should not rely on PIP Companion as your only source of information.

Your account

You should keep your login details secure, provide accurate account information and avoid sharing access to your account with other people.

We may restrict or remove access if the service is misused, if an account is used in a way that could affect other users, or if we need to protect the service.

Your information

You choose what information you enter. Sensitive claim preparation content is protected when stored. Basic account details are kept so we can manage accounts, subscriptions and security.

You can read more in our Privacy Policy and our data handling guide.

Payments and access

Some features may be free, and some features may require payment. The pricing page explains what is included before you choose to unlock paid access.

Payment terms, pricing and access may change over time. If that happens, we will aim to keep the information clear before you make a purchase.

Acceptable use

PIP Companion is here to support preparation work. To keep the service safe and useful, users must not:

  • Use the service unlawfully.
  • Try to access another person's workspace.
  • Interfere with the service or its security.
  • Upload or save content they do not have the right to use.

Availability

We aim to keep PIP Companion available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. There may be times when the service is unavailable because of maintenance, technical issues or changes outside our control.

Features may change as the product improves. We will try to keep the experience clear and supportive when changes affect how you use the service.

Limitation of responsibility

PIP Companion helps you prepare information, but you remain responsible for any information you submit outside the app.

We are not responsible for decisions made by the DWP or any other organisation. We cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness or suitability of user-generated notes.

These terms are intended to be clear and practical. They do not change the important boundary that PIP Companion is a preparation tool, not legal advice and not an official PIP form.
